Hormonal changes, life stresses and past experiences can all affect your mood and mental health, and your physical health too. Our therapists work closely with our women’s health specialists, so your emotional wellbeing is never treated in isolation.

Systemic psychotherapy

Systemic psychotherapy looks at how your relationships, experiences and surroundings shape your mental health. It is particularly helpful for women experiencing:

  • anxiety, low mood or feeling overwhelmed
  • health-related stress or burnout
  • difficulties in relationships or family life
  • the emotional impact of hormonal changes, perimenopause or menopause
  • past trauma or big life changes

Sessions are trauma-informed and go at your pace. You will learn practical ways to manage emotional triggers and understand how hormonal changes may be affecting you. Individual, couple and group sessions are available, in person in Nottingham or online.

Psychosexual medicine

Psychosexual medicine helps with sexual difficulties that have a physical or emotional cause, or both, such as low desire, pain or loss of confidence. Read about libido and menopause.
