Cookie Policy
Effective date: 1 October 2026
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones the TMC Health website uses, and how you can control them. TMC Health is the trading name of The Menopause Consortium Limited. This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information more generally.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Some are essential for a site to work at all; others are set by services built into a page, such as a video player. Similar technologies, such as information saved in your browser’s storage, are covered by this policy in the same way.
How we use cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum.
- Essential cookies only, unless you say otherwise. When you first visit, the only cookies we use are the ones the site needs to work.
- Optional cookies are off until you switch them on. With your permission we show our patient reviews from Doctify and play YouTube videos inside our articles. Those services may set their own cookies, so we do not load them until you agree.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or any other tool that tracks you across the web.
The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Needed for the site to work: logging in to your course account, saving your progress through lessons and quizzes, and remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off, and they are never used to track you.
Patient reviews
Shows our verified patient reviews from Doctify. Doctify may set its own cookies when the reviews load. If you turn this off you will see a link to our reviews on Doctify instead. Off unless you choose to allow it.
Videos
Plays YouTube videos inside our articles. YouTube may set cookies when a video loads. If you turn this off, each video shows a button to play it instead. Off unless you choose to allow it.
Your choices
When you first visit, we ask whether you are happy for us to use optional cookies. You can accept them, reject them, or choose by category. Rejecting optional cookies does not stop you using any part of the site: you will see a link to our reviews on Doctify instead of the reviews themselves, and a button to play each video.
You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page, or with this button:
We remember your choice for six months, then ask again. If we start using a new type of optional cookie, we will ask you again before using it.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to log in to your course account.
Booking and other websites
When you book an appointment, you are taken to our booking system, run by Semble, on its own website. Semble sets its own cookies there and has its own privacy and cookie policies. The same applies when you follow a link from our site to Google Maps, Doctify, the Care Quality Commission or our social media pages: those sites are responsible for their own cookies.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the cookies we use change. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised.
