Women’s health clinic in Aberdeen
See a BMS-recognised specialist face-to-face at HourGlass — unhurried, evidence-based care for every stage.
Next available appointment Thu 5 Nov
Based at HourGlass near the city centre, our Aberdeen clinic serves women from across the city and the shire — Dyce, Westhill and Stonehaven included. It’s one of two TMC clinics in Aberdeenshire (our Sauchen clinic near Inverurie is the other), which means appointments in the North East rarely involve a long wait or a longer drive.
The care itself is the same wherever you meet us: a 45-minute first appointment with a BMS-recognised specialist, menopause and perimenopause at the core, with women’s health checks and the cycle problems that sit between specialities. Private gynaecology appointments are available online. Video follow-ups are there whenever the A90 isn’t worth the trip.
Also serving Dyce, Westhill, Stonehaven and the surrounding area.

Good to know
Do I need a GP referral for the Aberdeen clinic?
No — you book directly with our specialists, and we keep your GP informed with a letter after every consultation.
Where is the Aberdeen clinic?
At HourGlass, close to the city centre and straightforward to reach from Dyce, Westhill, Stonehaven and the wider shire. Directions come with your booking confirmation, and the Get Directions link on this page takes you straight there.
What's the difference between the Aberdeen and Inverurie clinics?
Same care, same standards, two locations — HourGlass in Aberdeen and the Sauchen clinic near Inverurie. Book whichever is easier to reach; your records work across both, and online appointments knit the two together.
Can I have follow-ups online after an Aberdeen appointment?
Yes — video follow-ups are routine, including evenings and weekends.
Can I see a gynaecologist through the Aberdeen clinic?
Not in person — private gynaecology appointments are available online, by video. In Aberdeen you can see Dr Sarah Hastings for menopause and hormonal health, and book a women’s health check.
Your appointment, answered
The questions people are sometimes nervous to ask — answered honestly, start to finish.
How much does it cost to see a menopause specialist?
A 45-minute first appointment with a Specialist Women’s Health GP is £250, and rises for a BMS Registered Menopause Specialist or Clinical Lead Director. Every price is published on our pricing page before you book — no hidden fees.
I’m nervous about booking — is that normal?
Completely. Many women arrive unsure whether their symptoms “count”. They do. You do not need a diagnosis, a referral, or the right words for what you are experiencing — bring it as it is and we will work it out together.
Do I need any tests or paperwork before I come?
No. Bring yourself, and if you can, a note of your symptoms and any medicines or HRT you’ve tried — a symptom diary is genuinely useful but not required. Blood tests are only arranged afterwards if they’d actually change the answer.
Can I bring someone with me?
Of course — a partner, friend or relative is welcome in the appointment if you’d like the company or a second pair of ears.
What actually happens on the day?
You’ll be welcomed, and your specialist will bring you in for your appointment — a full 45 minutes for a first visit. It’s a conversation, not a conveyor belt: your history, your symptoms, what you’ve tried, what you want to change. There’s no examination unless one is needed and explained first, and you leave knowing the plan.
What if I’m running late — or need to cancel?
Life happens — just call us. If you’re running late we’ll do our best to protect your appointment, and if you need to rearrange, the earlier you let us know the easier it is to offer your slot to someone else.
What happens after the appointment?
You’ll have a written plan, a prescription where clinically appropriate, and a letter to your GP so your NHS records stay joined up. Follow-ups can be booked online whenever you need one.
Will anyone know what we discussed?
Your consultation is private and confidential. The one routine exception is the letter to your GP, which keeps your medical records complete — tell your specialist if there’s anything you’d prefer handled differently, and they’ll discuss the options with you.
No referral needed, and no need to know what’s wrong before you come — that’s what the appointment is for.
